Story

With her eyes closed

Everything falls silent for a moment, creating space to breathe. Not to escape, but precisely to feel. The world around her glows red, warm and alive. A golden circle surrounds her like a gentle force that embraces her, warms her and places her in the light.

Butterflies may dance

She hovers between stillness and movement, between silence and growth. To me, the butterflies embody change and freedom. Every butterfly is different, yet together they form a single movement. For me, thirty-three became a number of trust and growth. Only when the painting was finished did I discover that there were thirty-three of them.

Light enough to float

The butterflies have only wings. This makes them lighter and freer, more feeling than form. They do not fly where they are supposed to, but wherever they want to go. Only the butterflies just above her shoulder and in front of her face have a body and eyes. The two seek contact, while the woman remains connected to her inner world.

Flying within

This painting reminds me what it means simply to be for a moment. There is serenity in her face as the wings flutter softly around her. With an open heart and wings already gently rippling, ready to beat at full strength when the time comes. A breath between past and future. A moment of surrender and trust.
