A Head Full of Fairy Tales
My love of drawing began when I was a child, in my bubble of imagination filled with mermaids, flowers and fairy tales.
Creativity Took Flight
As a teenager, that passion continued to grow. It first led me to study Fine Arts, followed by Applied Graphic Arts and Children's Book Illustration at college. During painting classes with Christiane Vleugels, I discovered the magic of oil painting.
Where Every Detail Tells a Story
I paint hair by hair and petal by petal, until the story feels completely right. My paintings can seem as sweet as a rose petal and as soft as satin. But those who look closely will occasionally discover a layer of pain.
The Canvas Shows the Way
Alongside my refined, figurative work, I discovered the power of intuitive painting. A white canvas. As white as snow. Empty, yet at the same time filled with possible stories. Without a fixed plan, I let the colours find their own way. The first layers flow across the canvas, without me knowing where the story will lead. I follow what emerges. The rest unfolds naturally.
